Modeling Agency
A new attitude for all models is required, and along with that, a new
modeling agency. We want to see a modeling agency that will encourage
women and young girls to be themselves and love who they are first,
not try to conform themselves to a standard which is outright
unhealthy at times, and was played out years ago anyway.
The modeling agency is another institution that has earned itself a
bad reputation over the years, allowing girls to waste away to frail
walking corpses, crushing the self-esteem of aspiring young models by
casually dismissing them with a few careless word about how they
really need to lose about twenty pounds. Everyone has heard a
nightmare story about a particular model's experience with a modeling
agency that seemed to be run by satan himself, and if we haven't
heard about it, we've seen it portrayed on TV and in films, sometimes
as satire, sometimes as drama.
What does this all mean to the up and coming model who just wants to
get on the cover of Vogue? It means you can't always count on a
modeling agency to get you where you want to go, and some will
actually stand in your way if you let them. Find a modeling agency
that you feel comfortable with, but also do your own thing. Seek
out photo shoots, photographers, stylists and designers. These are
the people who you need to know in order to build a strong modeling
career.
