A short student film being made by IC students is holding auditions for actors in the Ithaca area. The film is a lighthearted look at a woman who writes baby books trying to be in control of a broken mechanical baby, and how things go
very wrong.
The film is being made for IC's Advanced Cinema Production - Fiction class. Actors will be able to receive a copy of the film on dvd or any other format. They will also be well-fed on set. All of the roles (besides the main character) have very small time commitments, only needing one day of shooting (unless we go back for pick-up shots).

Mary is a woman in her early 40?s. She is married, but her husband is often away on business. They have one teenage daughter. Mary is in very good shape for her age. She is neat and organized but not obsessively so. She takes care of herself and presents herself well.
Mary is a businesswoman, upper-middle class. Mary wants to have a successful career, and she wants to help people. She write baby books, and is a prominent figure in that field. Mary wants to take care of everything, and is always trying to solve problems. But what she really needs is to slow down and realize that she cannot fix every problem by herself. Mary also lacks patience, which sometimes results in her acting rashly before thinking things through.
In the film, Mary tries to help her daughter by taking care of her home ec. project: a mechanical baby. Unfortunately, things go very wrong.
